Orientation program for first-year students newly enrolled in the English Language Teaching Program was held on September 29, 2025. The program was organized under the direction of the Head of Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sedat Akayoğlu, with contributions from Research Assistant Esra Spahi, the advisor for the semester. Faculty members Prof. Dr. Abdullah Coşkun and Prof. Dr. Anıl Rakıcıoğlu-Söylemez also participated in the event.

The primary aim of the orientation program was to help students adapt to university life and begin their academic journey with awareness and confidence.

During the event, students were informed about key academic and administrative processes. The main topics covered included:

• Academic Processes: Courses, the Academic Support System (ADS), Double Major (ÇAP), Minor programs, and compulsory and elective courses.
• Administrative Information: Faculty regulations, academic advising, examinations, and disciplinary procedures.
• Technological Infrastructure: EDUROAM, Office.com, digital platforms, and automation systems.
• Campus Life: Library use, student clubs, cultural and sports activities.

The program ensured that new students were introduced not only to academic matters but also to the social and cultural aspects of university life, aiming to facilitate a smooth transition into faculty life. Overall, the orientation program was regarded as an important step toward supporting students’ adaptation to university.
